Family Field Gatherings
Saturdays 12pm - 2pm
We offer relaxed, nature-based gatherings for families and children to spend time outdoors in a simple, welcoming field environment.
These sessions are unstructured and open-ended, designed to give children space to play freely, explore nature, and use their imagination, while adults can slow down, relax, and enjoy being outside together.
The field includes a mix of natural play areas, open space, simple toys, and woodland-style exploration. Families are free to move through the space at their own rhythm.... whether that’s playing, resting, wandering, or simply being together in nature.
There is no formal teaching or set programme. Instead, the focus is on open play, connection with nature, and shared time outdoors.
These gatherings are informal and community-based, offering a gentle alternative to structured classes or organised activities.
🌿 A gentle note
Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children at all times.
These sessions are unstructured and not facilitated as a formal forest school programme.
🌿 In essence
A simple, open space for families to spend time together outdoors, with freedom to play, rest, and explore nature at their own pace.

Forest School
Coming soon....
Imagine…
A nature-based learning space where children reconnect with themselves, the land, and their natural curiosity.
A place where children lead their learning, and nature becomes the classroom.
We are creating a small, nurturing Forest School in Somerset for children who learn best outside the traditional classroom, particularly those who are neurodivergent, or who thrive in quieter, nature-based learning environments.
Our approach is child-led and relationship-based. We believe children are naturally curious and capable learners when they are trusted with time, space and freedom to explore what interests them.
Rather than fixed lessons or rigid timetables, we create a rich outdoor learning environment filled with tools, materials and opportunities. Children are supported to follow their curiosity, build confidence in their ideas, and develop a strong sense of self.
The Forest School will be led by an experienced and qualified practitioner, and the adults in the space act as facilitators rather than instructors, learning alongside the children, offering guidance and encouragement while allowing exploration to unfold in ways that are meaningful for each individual.
Our site is also home to a community garden and food forest, where children will have the opportunity to grow food, learn about soil and seasonal cycles, and develop practical skills through hands-on gardening, sustainable growing practices and land-based activities.
By spending time working with the land, children gain practical skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how we can care for the natural world that sustains us.
